Andra DavisThe Buffalo Bills have finally signed an impact free agent.

Linebacker Andra Davis, who spent 2009 with the Denver Broncos, signed with the Bills on Tuesday. Davis first told Josina Anderson of Fox 31 in Denver that it's a done deal.

"I'm very excited and glad this process is over with," Davis said. "Now I can focus on getting my wife and my kids out here, finding a school, finding a place to stay, getting started and then working out with the guys."

New Bills defensive coordinator George Edwards has said he'll switch to a 3-4 defense, and Davis's experience in the 3-4 should make him a good fit in Buffalo.

The 31-year-old Davis was released by the Broncos last week in what Mike Klis of the Denver Post described as the most stunning transaction of the offseason. Davis was a solid starter in Denver last year and was expected to be back in Denver this year.

Prior to signing with the Broncos in 2009, Davis played for the Browns from 2002 to 2008.
