PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Senior guard Scottie Reynolds and junior guard Corey Fisher are not in the starting lineup for Villanova's first-round NCAA tournament game against Robert Morris, which is scheduled to tip off here at 12:30 pm EST. Both players took part in the the team's shootaround an hour before tip-off, and it's unclear why they wouldn't be starting when they both have started every game Villanova has played this season. Multiple sources here in the arena have said to expect both players to play in the game. Corey Stokes and Maalik Wayns are listed as starters in their place. The second-seeded Wildcats, who made the Final Four in 2009 but lost five of their last seven games entering this tournament, are heavy favorites against the 15th-seeded Colonials of Robert Morris. Only four times has a No. 2 seed lost to a No. 15 seed. So it's possible that coach Jay Wright is trying to snap his team out of its funk by benching a couple of stars. But if VIllanova is playing significant minutes without its top two scorers, it's going to at least change its look, if not its ability to advance to the second round.
Reynolds leads the Wildcats with 18.5 points per game this year, and Fisher is second on the team at 13.7. They are the only two players to have started all 31 of the team's games until today.
