The Blazers and the Wizards did their best to set the game of basketball back several decades on Friday, combining for just 150 total points by the time all was said and done. Portland shot a franchise-low 32.1 percent from the field on the night, but came away with the victory thanks to this shot from Brandon Roy with 0.9 seconds left on the clock.

I know, tough shot and all that. But it's a little easier when you're allowed to lift your pivot foot and take two steps to escape your defender so you can get the shot off, isn't it?

Michael Lee of the Washington Post shared some of the Wizards players' reactions after seeing the replay, and predictably, they saw the play as being questionable at best.
The general consensus was that Roy's feet got a little happy on that last possession. Randy Foye said afterward that he thought Roy "shuffled his feet" before taking that shot. James Singleton said he thought Roy switched his pivot foot.
Lee goes on to point out that it would have been a lot to ask for the Wizards to win in overtime at the Rose Garden, and I would have to agree. But that doesn't mean the refs shouldn't have made the right call in that situation. And as the replay shows, they clearly did not.
