Ronnie BrownMiami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown, a restricted free agent, was reportedly arrested late Friday night on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was released Saturday.

According to The Miami Herald, Brown was pulled over near his hometown of Rome, Ga. for making a lane change without using a blinker. Brown is said to be "distraught" over the incident and has hired an attorney.

He has no prior arrest record.

The Dolphins placed a first-round tender on Brown earlier this offseason. While another team could opt to sign him in exchange for a first-round draft pick, the fact that Brown's coming off surgery to repair a Lisfranc fracture in his foot almost guarantees that he'll be back for his sixth season with Miami.

Last year, Brown rushed for 648 yards and eight touchdowns prior to suffering his foot injury. In his five years as a Dolphin, Brown has accumulated nearly 4,100 yards rushing and 1,200-plus yards receiving, as well as 33 total TDs.

Brown is scheduled to make $3.96 million in 2010 under his tender offer. If healthy -- a big if given that Brown's now missed 16 games over the past three seasons -- he'll once again team with Ricky Williams to give Miami one of the NFL's best running-back duos. Brown is also one of the forces behind Miami's wildcat offense.

The Dolphins had not commented on Brown's arrest as of Sunday night.
