FanHouse has learned that Saturday' night's rematch for the vacant IBF lightweight (135 pounds) title at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas between Dominican Republican-born Joan Guzman (pitctured at right) and South Africa's Ali Funeka will go on with one catch in Funeka's favor -- this, despite the fact that Guzman weighed in nine pounds over the contracted limit at 144.

Funeka weighed in appropriately at 135 pounds.

The belt will be on the line only for Funeka (30-2-3, 25 knockouts), who, in victory, would be named the titlist. The crown will not go to Guzman (29-0-1, 17 KOs) if he wins, but will remain vacant, according to a source with knowledge of the details of the deal points of the fight, which is being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Funeka's promoter, Gary Shaw.

Neither Shaw, Golden Boy CEO, Richard Schaefer, nor Nevada State Athletic Commission director, Keith Kizer, could be reached on Friday night.

But according to a source, both fighters will be weighed in at 7 a.m. on Saturday with the stipulation that the fight will commence if Guzman weighs in at 150 or below, and Funeka, at 145 or below.

In addition, it appears that Guzman is being fined between $20,000-to-$25,000 from his purse, with the money going to Funeka.

When the two met for the vacant IBF crown in November, the 6-foot-1, 31-year-old Funeka seemed to have dominated the 5-7, 33-year-old Guzman, whose white trunks were stained with his own blood that flowed from his nose as well as from a cut above his right eye.

But the match up ended in a controversial, 12-round, majority draw in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, with American judge Joe Pasquale scoring it 116-112 for Funeka, but both Canadian judges, Alan Davis, and Benoit Roussel, having it even at 114-114.

FanHouse had it for Funeka, 116-112.
