Marlon ByrdFor a number of major league teams, Mondays and Thursdays are travel days. Every Wednesday and Sunday, Fantasy Fill-Ins finds guys who should be widely available on the waiver wire and can step in for the day, helping you gain ground or hold off the pack.

With 11 games scheduled for Thursday, 22 of the 30 teams are in action. You may need some help if you have a roster dominated by players from the National League West or if you depend on the huge hitters in St. Louis.

The complete list of teams that are off on Thursday are: Baltimore, Toronto, Seattle, Kansas City, San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona and St. Louis.

Here are five hitters for your fill-in needs.

Marlon Byrd, OF, Cubs - Byrd started slow this season, but is 12-for-34 over his last eight games with six RBI. He's only owned in 25 percent of fantasy leagues and will face Johan Santana on Thursday.

Austin Jackson, OF, Tigers - Hitting .328 and currently on the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, Jackson offers nice speed and run-scoring attributes to your fantasy team. He's currently owned in only 27 percent of fantasy leagues and will face Joe Saunders on Thursday.

Cristian Guzman, 2B, Nationals - Guzman has eight hits and has scored four runs over his last three games. He's hitting .362 currently and is owned in only 22 percent of fantasy leagues. He'll have the unenviable task of facing Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez.

Cameron Maybin, OF, Marlins - I'm still amazed -- especially since Maybin has been moved to the top of the Marlins batting order -- that Maybin is only owned in 34 percent of fantasy leagues. He's hitting .305 and has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games. He's also scored 14 runs this year and stolen three bases.

Ivan Rodriguez, C, Nationals - I hardly ever choose catchers for fill-in players because they take regular days off and it's sometimes hard to track. But Pudge is sitting on Wednesday, making a Thursday start a relatively safe bet. Rodriguez is batting .444 on the season and has seven multi-hit games in his last nine starts. He's owned in 52 percent of fantasy leagues.
