ARLINGTON, Va. -- Washington Captials defenseman Tom Poti will be out of action indefinitely with what coach Bruce Boudreau described as "a pretty significant injury" to one of his eyes.Poti, who does not wear a visor, took a shot off the face during Monday's Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens and skated immediately to the locker room. Boudreau said he was able to make it back on the team flight, and doctors were in the process of evaluating the severity of the injury.
"I don't know just yet," Boudreau said. "It could be two-to-three weeks. It could be longer. "
Poti had four points (all assists) through the first six games of the series and was third on the team in ice time, averaging 21 minutes, 22 seconds in the playoffs. He had been paired up with rookie John Carlson.
