Texas big man
Dexter Pittman is amid the most impactful days of his professional basketball career, with the NBA Draft coming up in a little over a month. But basketball is taking a back seat for Pittman now. Pittman was at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago when
his 16-year-old brother Darius Johnson was shot and killed in Houston Thursday night. ESPN's Andy Katz reports Pittman has left the combine early to return home.
Clearly, Pittman's NBA stock isn't important right now. And teams have seen several years of his work at Texas regardless -- one more day of drills shouldn't be a make-or-break factor in Pittman's potential NBA future. The most important thing right now is obviously for Pittman to be with his family, and all 30 teams understand that.
