"It was a feeling like no other, being on the top of the world," Romero told ABC's "Good Morning America" today from base camp in Nepal. "This is something I've been dreaming about since I was just 9 years old."
After scaling Everest on May 22, Jordan realized his dream of climbing the world's tallest mountains. He began checking summits off his list at age 10, scaling Mount Kilimanjaro in 2006.
Jason, who is from Big Bear, Calif., reached the summit with his father, Paul Romero, and stepmother, Karen Lundgren, described as "experienced adventure racers and mountaineers" on Jordan's blog.
Jordan writes on his blog that he called his mother, Leigh Ann Drake, after reaching Everest's summit.
"Hello, Mom, it's your son calling from the top of the world, everything's OK. I did it," Jordan recalled while he "shielded himself from the wind at 29,035."
He said his team of climbers were now resting in the "relative warmth of comfort" of base camp.
