Hideki Irabu Arrested for Alleged DWI
Our annual walk down Irabu memory lane in 2010 comes after the former Yankees, Expos and Rangers pitcher, now a resident of Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif., was arrested for alleged drunk driving in nearby Gardena.
Irabu was stopped May 17 when he was spotted drifting in and out of traffic lanes and he nearly hit a parked car.
A police spokesman said Irabu posted $5,000 bail and that a decision on whether to press charges will be made next month when the results of his blood test come back.
The man once called a "fat toad" by George Steinbrenner has been a punchline for more than a decade now, but his increasingly destructive actions in recent years could change things from humorous to sad.
