As we work our way through the first round, we're going to find more and more flaws with players. Petrovic is no exception to that rule.

He missed out on Canada's U18 team this year after making it last year, a sign of a player whose skills have plateaued a little bit. Petrovic didn't have a great season for Red Deer, but still showed some of his pro potential.

He continued to develop as an offensive threat, and his play with the puck was pretty solid. He performed fairly well in the prospects game until he lost a fight to fellow first-round prospect Dylan McIlrath. Perhaps this left him a bit gun-shy, as he didn't finish the season as well as he started it.

It shouldn't be a huge worry. Petrovic will do just fine in the physical part of the game once his body fills out. He's quite the lanky prospect at 6-foot-4 and under 200 pounds. Give him another year of major junior, move him slowly through the minors, and there's no reason he can't fulfill his potential.
