Tinordi is another prospect who carries favorable bloodlines into the NHL Draft. Father Mark Tinordi carved out a nice career for himself by being a tough, fearless player. He scored just 52 goals in over 650 NHL games, peaking with 15 goals during the 1992-93 campaign, the Minnesota North Stars' final year before moving to Dallas.

Jarred is like his father physically. He's a big kid who has long arms and can play the hard-hitting style of hockey so many teams prefer. You're talking about a kid who could easily play at 230-240 pounds, given his body frame. He's a decent skater, but won't wow anyone with his offensive acumen. Mark Tinordi was never an offensive player, and while Jarred may be a little bit more skillful, he will make his money by playing tough, physical hockey.

Expect Tinordi to play a year or two at Notre Dame, assuming he isn't lured to go the major junior route. That may come down to which team drafts him. Many NHL teams are very supportive of their draftees going the college route. While that's not the best path for every player, it would likely work well for Tinordi. He will get stronger, have a chance to battle against some older, more experienced players, and his skill development won't suffer at all.
