Randy Moss mayRandy Moss not be a Patriot after the 2010 season ends, but Moss does intend to play somewhere. Moss, who fired his agent last week, told the Boston Herald that he has "no intention of retiring soon."

"The way it was brought to my attention was that it seemed like I'm retiring soon," Moss said, addressing speculation that he had decided to axe his agent because he'll hang up the cleats after this season. "I have no intention of retiring soon. What I did with firing an agent was, I thought time had run out. There were some things that couldn't be done that needed to be done."

Moss added: "I am a free man! I'm looking for a new agent."

He'll need that new agent, not only because he is "still marketable," as he told the Herald, but because he'll hit the free-agent market prior to the 2011 season -- assuming there is a 2011 season amid lingering collective bargaining issues.

Moss has one year left on his current contract at $6.4 million. This will be his fourth season in New England after two in Oakland and seven in Minnesota. But Moss, 33, said as far back as February that he doesn't anticipate staying with the Patriots beyond this year.

The sometimes-troublesome wide receiver told the Herald on Monday that he won't turn his expiring contract into a problem for the franchise.

"I wanted to let fans know, this is my year," Moss said. "I'm going to play the year, I'm not coming in to start any conflicts or be disgruntled. I don't think I'm realistically in the future plans of the Patriots. But if the New England Patriots don't want me in their future, (it's a business). I understand."

Even in his mid-30s, Moss figures to find plenty of interested teams next summer. He's topped the 1,000-yard receiving mark each of his three seasons in New England and has 47 TDs in that time. For his career, Moss has 148 touchdown catches to go along with 14,465 yards receiving.

And, as for that marketability, well you can judge for yourself based on the ad below:
