Jim Joyce Declared Dead on Wikipedia Following Perfect Game Gaffe

Umpire Jim Joyce's blown call at first base that denied Armando Galarraga a perfect game was the last mistake he would ever make, at least according to his hastily edited Wikipedia page.

A quick update to the user-edited online encylclopedia declared Joyce, the "very worst ump in Major League Baseball," dead June 2.

Joyce, the first base umpire for Wednesday night's Detroit-Cleveland game, incorrectly called Jason Donald safe on what would have been the final out in the first perfect game in Tigers history.

The edit was soon reverted and replaced with a section devoted to the "Controversial Call."
