NHL free agency begins July 1, as teams begin to wine and dine players hitting the market in hopes of filling holes and landing the guy they think can get them closer to the Stanley Cup.

Below, we rank the Top 50 unrestricted free agents available. Restricted free agents weren't included because their movement is rare.

Keep checking back on July 1 and beyond to see where this cream of the crop will call home next year. Players with a line through their names are off the market.

1. ILYA KOVALCHUK, F

Age: 26 | Experience: 8 years | '09-10 Team: Thrashers/Devils
2009-10 Stats: 41 g | 44 a | 85 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Devils -- 17 years, $102 million

The Skinny: There's only a small handful of quality wingers available in this year's free agent market, and Kovalchuk is the easily the best of the bunch. One of the most explosive goal-scorers in the NHL, Kovalchuk is coming off his sixth-straight 40-goal season and is going to command top dollar on the open market. It's not often that a player this talented, this young, becomes available on the open market to the highest bidder.

2. PATRICK MARLEAU, F

Age: 30 | Experience: 12 years | '09-10 Team: Sharks
2009-10 Stats: 44 g | 39 a | 83 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Sharks -- 4 yrs

The Skinny: After Kovalchuk, Marleau is probably the last impact player available at forward. The speedy veteran is coming off a career-best point campaign for the Sharks, and the first 40-goal season of his 12-year career. He's going to be 31 when next season starts; how many years will a team be willing to go? He plays in all situations and is a threat to score at even strength, on the power play and even shorthanded (nine shorthanded goals the last two years). He was also one of San Jose's most dangerous forwards in the playoffs, scoring eight goals.

3. ANTON VOLCHENKOV, D

Age: 28 | Experience: 7 years | '09-10 Team: Senators
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 10 a | 14 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Devils -- 6 yrs, $25.5 million

The Skinny: One of the best shutdown defensemen in the NHL and still on the right side of 30, Volchenkov is set to strike it rich on the free agent market, perhaps commanding a deal north of $5 million per season. After seeing the success of players like Hal Gill and Josh Gorges in the postseason, why wouldn't a team want to invest in one of the best defensive-defenseman in the NHL?

4. DAN HAMHUIS, D

Age: 27 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Predators
2009-10 Stats: 5 g | 19 a | 24 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Canucks -- 6 yrs, $27 million

The Skinny: The 12th overall pick in 2001, Hamhuis has steadily developed into a solid, well-rounded defenseman. He was sometimes lost in the shuffle in Nashville due to the presence of youngsters Shea Weber and Ryan Suter on the blueline, but his combination of ability and age will make him a very attractive player. Similar to Paul Martin both in terms of production and stature, but has proven to be a bit more durable over the past couple of seasons, playing in 483 of a possible 492 games in his six-year career.

5. PAUL MARTIN, D

Age: 29 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Devils
2009-10 Stats: 2 g | 9 a | 11 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Penguins -- 5 yrs, $25 million

The Skinny: Martin's season was derailed by injuries that not only cost him 60 regular season games, but also a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. He's been New Jersey's best defenseman for a couple of years now and can easily log over 24 minutes per game.

6. TOMAS PLEKANEC, F

Age: 27 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Canadiens
2009-10 Stats: 25 g | 45 a | 70 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Canadiens -- 6 yrs, $30 million

The Skinny: A large part of Montreal's shocking run to the Eastern Conference Final, Plekanec brings quite a bit to the table. His 70 points this season were a personal best, with 45 of them coming at even strength, good enough for 15th among all centers in the NHL. He kills penalties and wins close to 50 percent of his faceoffs.

7. RAY WHITNEY, F

Age: 38 | Experience: 18 years | '09-10 Team: Hurricanes
2009-10 Stats: 21 g | 37 a | 58 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Coyotes -- 2 yrs, $6 million

The Skinny:
There were reports at the trade deadline that Whitney wanted a three-year contract extension. That might be a bit long for a 38-year-old winger, but based on his play in Carolina, he should still be able to give a contender over 20 goals and close to 60 points.

8. SERGEI GONCHAR, D

Age: 36 | Experience: 15 years | '09-10 Team: Penguins
2009-10 Stats: 11 g | 39 a | 50 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Senators -- 3 yrs, $16.5 million

The Skinny:
Even though he's still one of the best power play quarterbacks in the NHL, Gonchar's defensive game declined badly this season (after improving quite a bit over the previous two seasons). His age and durability will be a major concern no matter where he ends up. He's 36 and has played in just 87 games over the last two years. Still, when he's in the lineup he is a difference-maker on the man advantage.

9. LEE STEMPNIAK, F

Age: 27 | Experience: 5 years | '09-10 Team: Maple Leafs/Coyotes
2009-10 Stats: 28 g | 20 a | 48 pt

The Skinny: After being a disappointment of sorts in Toronto, Stempniak went to Phoenix at last year's trade deadline and exploded with 14 goals in his final 18 regular season games. Unfortunately for him, and the Coyotes, the buckets of goals disappeared in the playoffs, as he got shut out in the team's seven-game loss to the Red Wings. But how much did that stretch run boost his value on the market? He's still only 27 years old and has both a 27- and 28-goal season on his resume. In an extremely weak class of free agents, he's looking like one of the most attractive options.

10. EVGENI NABOKOV, G

Age: 34 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Sharks
2009-10 Stats: 44 w | 2.43 GAA | .922 SV%
'10-'11 Team: Signed With St. Petersburg (KHL)

The Skinny: Probably the best of a very weak class of free agent netminders. Nabokov doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to being a playoff goaltender, but the soon-to-be 35-year-old is a proven workhorse throughout the regular season, winning 40 games in each of the last three seasons.

11. WILLIE MITCHELL, D

Age: 33 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Canucks
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 8 a | 12 pt

The Skinny: One of the better, and most underrated, defensive-defensemen in the NHL, Mitchell is coming off a pretty serious concussion that cost him the second half of his season with the Canucks. He would be a cheaper fallback option for a team that misses out on Volchenkov, or doesn't have the cap space for him.

12. ALEX FROLOV, F

Age: 27 | Experience: 7 years | '09-10 Team: Kings
2007-08 Stats: 19 g | 32 a | 51 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Rangers -- 1 yr, $3 million

The Skinny: The KHL is reportedly interested in the services of Frolov, who is coming off one of the least productive seasons of his career. He found himself benched earlier in the season, and his 19 goals (down from 32 the year before) were the fewest he's scored since he tallied 14 during his rookie campaign. He's a solid all-around player, but he can be maddeningly inconsistent.

13. MATTHEW LOMBARDI, F

Age: 28 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Coyotes
2009-10 Stats: 19 g | 34 a | 53 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Predators -- 3 yrs, $10.5 million

The Skinny: One of the many unrestricted free agents in Phoenix, Lombardi brings blinding speed to the table and is one of the fastest players in the NHL. He had a career year with the Coyotes this past season. Not a superstar by any means, but he would definitely be a more than solid No. 2 center for a number of teams in the NHL.

14. PAVEL KUBINA, D

Age: 33 | Experience: 12 years | '09-10 Team: Thrashers
2009-10 Stats: 6 g | 32 a | 38 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Lightning -- 2 yrs, $7.7 million

The Skinny: The Thrashers picked up Kubina last summer for Garnet Exelby and Colin Stuart, and he ended up giving Atlanta a 38-point season from the blueline. He's one of the better defensemen on the market in terms of providing offense, having scored 10 or more goals in a season five times. Atlanta would like to keep him.

15. SAKU KOIVU, F

Age: 35 | Experience: 14 years | '09-10 Team: Ducks
2009-10 Stats: 19 g | 33 a | 52 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Ducks -- 2 yrs, $2.5 million

The Skinny: Still a nice option as a No. 2 center, even though his point production has started to slip in recent years. Koivu can provide some good playmaking and penalty killing abilities, as well as strong leadership. Even with the slight drop in production over the past three years, he should still be good for around 50 points.

16. ZBYNEK MICHALEK, D

Age: 27 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Coyotes
2009-10 Stats: 3 g | 14 a | 17 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Penguins -- 5 yrs, $20 million

The Skinny: This year's Greg Zanon (three-year, $5.8 million deal with Minnesota last summer), perhaps? Michalek has proven to be one of the best shot-blockers in the NHL over the past couple of seasons and would be a very affordable option for a contender in need of some defensive zone responsibility (Pittsburgh? Washington?)

17. CHRIS MASON, G

Age: 34 | Experience: 8 years | '09-10 Team: Blues
2009-10 Stats: 30 w | 2.53 GAA | .913 SV%
'10-11 Team: Signed With Thrashers -- 2 yrs, $3.7 million

The Skinny: Mason posted respectable numbers for the Blues after being acquired for a draft pick (fourth round) prior to the 2008-09 season. He'll probably be available for a cheaper price than a bigger name guy like Evgeni Nabokov, while producing at a similar level.

18. TOMAS HOLMSTROM, F

Age: 37 | Experience: 13 years | '09-10 Team: Red Wings
2009-10 Stats: 25 g | 20 a | 45 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Red Wings -- 2 yrs, $3.75 m

The Skinny: Having played only 59, 58 and 63 games over the past three seasons, durability is going to be a concern. But when Holmstrom is on the ice he's a disruptive force, parking himself in his office in front of the crease and causing all sorts of havoc for opposing goalies. Assuming he can play between 60-70 games, he should be good for 20-25 goals once again.

19. HENRIK TALLINDER, D

Age: 31 | Experience: 8 years | '09-10 Team: Sabres
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 16 a | 20 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Devils -- 4 yrs, $13.5 million

The Skinny: The veteran was paired with Buffalo's rookie standout, Tyler Myers, for much of the season. Tallinder was one point shy of matching his career high during the regular season, and averaged over 20 minutes per game for the fourth time in the last five years. He's another one of the many solid, shot-blocking defenseman available on the market this offseason.

20. ANDY SUTTON, D

Age: 35 | Experience: 11 years | '09-10 Team: Islanders/Senators
2009-10 Stats: 5 g | 8 a | 13 pt

The Skinny: An intimidating physical presence on the blue line. Could he be this year's Hal Gill and parlay a new deal into a late-career renaissance with a new team? He made $3.5 million this past season and should probably get a similar deal this summer.

21. MAXIM AFINOGENOV, F

Age: 30 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Thrashers
2009-10 Stats: 24 g | 37 a | 61 pt

The Skinny: As they are with Kubina, the Thrashers are still hopeful they can re-sign him, but which Afinogenov is a team -- whether it's Atlanta or another club – going to get? The one that recorded 24 goals and 61 points this past season, or the one that scored 16 goals and 48 points over the previous two seasons ... combined.

22. ERIC BELANGER, F

Age: 32 | Experience: 9 years | '09-10 Team: Wild/Capitals
2009-10 Stats: 15 g | 26 a | 41 pt

The Skinny: Belanger will give a contender a great bottom-six center that can win puck possession on faceoffs and chip in a handful of goals while also killing penalties. He's very similar -- almost identical, actually -- to the next player on the list.

23. MANNY MALHOTRA, F

Age: 30 | Experience: 11 years | '09-10 Team: Sharks
2009-10 Stats: 14 g | 19 a | 33 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Canucks -- 3 yrs, $7.5 million

The Skinny: Malhotra is a valuable asset in the faceoff circle, a penalty killer and coming off a career-best 14-goal campaign in just 71 games for the Sharks. He's an ideal third-line center. Since the lockout he's won well over 55 percent of his faceoffs, including 62% this past season with the Sharks.

24. MATT CULLEN, F

Age: 33 | Experience: 12 years | '09-10 Team: Hurricanes/Senators
2009-10 Stats: 16 g | 32 a | 48 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Wild -- 3 yrs, $10.5 million

The Skinny: Cullen, acquired for a second-round draft pick, gave the Senators one of their most productive players in their opening round playoff loss to Pittsburgh, recording eight points in six games. He's turned into a steady 20-goal, 45-point forward. Like almost all of the forwards on the market, there's nothing really spectacular about his game, but solid on all levels.

25. TODD BERTUZZI, F

Age: 35 | Experience: 14 years | '09-10 Team: Red Wings
2009-10 Stats: 18 g | 26 a | 44 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Red Wings -- 2 yrs, $3.875 million

The Skinny: Bertuzzi has had a difficult time finding a steady home since the lockout, having two separate stints with the Red Wings, as well as brief stops in Florida, Calgary and Anaheim. He's obviously not the 40-goal scorer he was with Vancouver in the late-90s, but he's still a power forward capable of filling the back of the net close to 20 times.

26. MATT COOKE, F

Age: 31 | Experience: 11 years | '09-10 Team: Penguins
2009-10 Stats: 15 g | 15 a | 30 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Penguins -- 3 yrs, $5.4 million

The Skinny: He hates being called an agitator, but let's face it, that's what he does best. And he's one of the best in the league at it. Cooke is a classic example of a player that you love when he's on your team, and absolutely loathe when he isn't. He's surprisingly productive in a third-line role, typically scoring anywhere between 12 and 15 goals per season.

27. TONI LYDMAN, D

Age: 32 | Experience: 9 years | '09-10 Team: Sabres
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 16 a | 20 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Ducks -- 3 yrs, $9 million

The Skinny: Dubbed by some fans in Buffalo as "Toni Turnover," Lydman has been known to cough up the puck at inopportune times (not that there's ever a good time to give up the puck) and lead to goals going the other way. He is, however, a nice second-pairing defenseman. He won't be a major threat offensively, but can chip in the occasional point, and is a fundamentally sound player in his own end of the ice.

28. DENNIS SEIDENBERG, D

Age: 28 | Experience: 7 years | '09-10 Team: Panthers/Bruins
2009-10 Stats: 2 g | 21 a | 23 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Bruins, 4 yrs

The Skinny: A fearless shot-blocker, it took Seidenberg quite a while to find a team last summer, eventually inking a one-year deal with the Florida Panthers on September 14, where he played until he was traded to Boston at the trade deadline. With 77 points over the past three seasons (196 games) he produces a bit more on the offensive end than some of the other shot-blocking rearguards on the market (Volchenkov, Michalek). He shouldn't have to wait until the middle of September to find a team this offseason.

29. COLBY ARMSTRONG, F

Age: 27 | Experience: 5 years | '09-10 Team: Thrashers
2009-10 Stats: 15 g | 14 a | 29 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Maple Leafs -- 3 yrs, $9 million

The Skinny: Armstrong has been considered a great locker room presence his entire career, and is capable of chipping in anywhere between 15 and 20 goals, while also lurking in the shadows and dishing out his share of crushing open-ice hits. He's a solid third-line grinder type that could probably get away with playing second-line minutes on a couple of teams if needed.

30. DEREK MORRIS, D

Age: 31 | Experience: 12 years | '09-10 Team: Bruins/Coyotes
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 25 a | 29 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Coyotes -- 4 yrs, $11 million

The Skinny: Morris never really became the dynamic two-way defenseman he was supposed to be when the Flames made him the 13th overall pick in the 1996 draft. He has, however, managed to carve out a solid career, and is coming off a season that he split with the Boston Bruins and Phoenix Coyotes. No team relied on its defense to create offense more than the Coyotes, and Morris proved to be a part of that strategy after being re-acquired in an in-season trade, tallying eight points in 24 games (including playoffs).

31. OWEN NOLAN, F

Age: 38 | Experience: 18 years | '09-10 Team: Wild
2009-10 Stats: 16 g | 17 a | 33 pt

The Skinny: Nolan is looking to play one more season and, obviously, wants a Stanley Cup. He's going to turn 39 in February and is coming off a pair of solid seasons with Minnesota, scoring 41 goals in 132 games. Could be some nice veteran depth for a contender that's only one or two pieces away.

32. ALEXEI PONIKAROVSKY, F

Age: 30 | Experience: 9 years | '09-10 Team: Maple Leafs/Penguins
2009-10 Stats: 21 g | 29 a | 50 pt
'10-11: Signed With Kings

The Skinny: Traded to the Penguins in early March, Ponikarovsky was supposed to give Pittsburgh a much-needed scoring winger on its top two lines. In the end, the experiment didn't work. Including the playoffs, the 29-year-old winger scored just three goals in 29 games, which is an impressive accomplishment when you consider he spent most of his time playing on a line with Evgeni Malkin. Even with his struggles in Pittsburgh, he's still a legitimate 50-point winger with a solid two-way game that should be able to bounce back.

33. PAUL KARIYA, F

Age: 35 | Experience: 15 years | '09-10 Team: Blues
2009-10 Stats: 18 g | 25 a | 43 pt

The Skinny: How much does he have left in the tank? After playing in every game during the first three seasons after the lockout, he was limited to just 11 games in 2008-09, before bouncing back to play 75 this year. Unfortunately it was, statistically, the worst season of his career, and by a rather large margin. His .057 points-per-game was the lowest average of his 15-year-career. He's probably looking at a one-year contract.

34. VINNY PROSPAL, F

Age: 35 | Experience: 13 years | '09-10 Team: Rangers
20089-09 Stats: 20 g | 38 a | 58 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Rangers -- 1 yr, $1 million

The Skinny: Prospal seems to change teams every year (sometimes twice a year). His 20 goals and 58 points were each good enough to place him second on the Rangers scoring list this past season. Could be a useful pickup for a team in need of some power play help. His production seems to vary from year-to-year, typically alternating productive seasons with not-so-productive seasons.

35. JOSE THEODORE, G

Age: 33 | Experience: 13 years | '09-10 Team: Capitals
2009-10 Stats: 30 w | 2.81 GAA | .911 SV%

The Skinny: There were times this season when Theodore looked like he was going to play well enough to backstop the Capitals to a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run (for example: when he went 24 starts to close out the regular season with only one loss in regulation). For the second year in a row, however, Theodore found himself on the bench after just two playoff games in favor of Semyon Varlamov. Would he be a reasonable stop-gap replacement for Evgeni Nabokov if San Jose decides to part ways with him?

36. JOE CORVO, D

Age: 32 | Experience: 7 years | '09-10 Team: Hurricanes/Capitals
2009-10 Stats: 6 g | 12 a | 18 pt

The Skinny: Considered a rather bold pickup at the trade deadline, Corvo could probably be considered a slight disappointment for the Capitals, especially since he played just 16 minutes per game in the playoffs, recording only two points. Offense is a big part of his game, but he can be guilty of some pretty bad turnovers at times.

37. MARTY TURCO, G

Age: 34 | Experience: 9 years | '09-10 Team: Stars
2009-10 Stats: 22 w | 2.72 GAA | .913 SV%

The Skinny: Turco is one of the best puckhandling goalies in the league, but his play has been somewhat erratic over the past three seasons. The Dallas Stars were willing to part ways with him and enter next season with the oft-injured Kari Lehtonen as their starting netminder.

38. BRENDAN MORRISON, F

Age: 34 | Experience: 12 years | '09-10 Team: Capitals
2009-10 Stats: 12 g | 30 a | 42 pt

The Skinny: A 12-year veteran that played the 2009-10 season in Washington. Spending quite a bit of time on a line with Brooks Laich and Alexander Semin, Morrison recorded 42 points in 74 games. A good faceoff man that did most of his damage (34 of his 42 points) this season at even strength.

39. MIKE COMRIE, F

Age: 29 | Experience: 9 years | '09-10 Team: Oilers
2009-10 Stats: 13 g | 8 a | 21 pt

The Skinny: Comrie comes as a package deal with Hillary Duff, which is worth ... something. Solid depth player that can provide double-digit goals and bring some speed to a lineup ... assuming he's in the lineup enough. Injuries have been a problem throughout his career, and he was limited to just 43 games this past season with the Oilers.

40. MICHAEL LEIGHTON, G

Age: 29 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Hurricanes/Flyers
2009-10 Stats: 17 w | 2.50 GAA | .905 SV%
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Flyers -- 2 yrs, $3.1 million

The Skinny: Let's face it, last year at this time he probably wouldn't have made a list of the top 150 free agents, but backstopping the Flyers run to the Stanley Cup Final will surely give his value a spike. Whether or not he's worth it, and whether or not this postseason run has been nothing more than a giant mirage, remain to be seen.

41. BILL GUERIN, F

Age: 39 | Experience: 18 years | '09-10 Team: Penguins
2009-10 Stats: 21 g | 24 a | 45 pt

The Skinny: He still wants to play another season, and is coming off a 21-goal, 24-assist season playing on a line with Sidney Crosby. Guerin appeared to run out of gas in the second half of the season. A cheap one-year deal might be the way to go if you're looking to bring Guerin into the mix.

42. KIM JOHNSSON, D

Age: 34 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Wild/Blackhawks
2009-10 Stats: 7 g | 10 a | 17 pt

The Skinny: Chicago acquired the veteran rearguard in mid-February, along with prospect Nick Leddy, for defenseman Cam Barker. He played just eight games for the Blackhawks before suffering a concussion and hasn't played since. Will it be a lingering problem going forward?

43. BRETT CLARK, D

Age: 33 | Experience: 11 years | '09-10 Team: Avalanche
2009-10 Stats: 3 g | 17 a | 20 pt
'10-'11 Team: Signed with Lightning -- two yrs, $3 million

The Skinny: Clark was a really good player for the Avalanche three or four years ago, but has declined, rather quickly, in recent years. He could still be a nice addition as a bottom-pairing defenseman. Counting on him for more might be expecting a little too much, but he still has some mileage left on the tires.

44. RAFFI TORRES, F

Age: 28 | Experience: 8 years | '09-10 Team: Blue Jackets/Sabres
2009-10 Stats: 19 g | 17 a | 36 pt

The Skinny: Perhaps a nice fallback option for a team in need of a "power forward" that misses out on guys like Holmstrom or Bertuzzi. He has decent speed and will play a physical game, and is coming off a 19-goal season split with Columbus and Buffalo.

45. DAN ELLIS, G

Age: 29 | Experience: 4 years | '09-10 Team: Predators
2009-10 Stats: 15 w | 2.69 GAA | .909 SV%
'10-11 Team: Signed With Lightning -- 2 yrs, $3 million

The Skinny: Another gamble in the crease. Ellis had some moments as a starter in Nashville over the past couple of seasons, but eventually lost the No. 1 job to Pekka Rinne. He could be a cheap alternative for a team looking to use a goalie rotation.

46. JOHN MADDEN, F

Age: 37 | Experience: 11 years | '09-10 Team: Blackhawks
2009-10 Stats: 10 g | 13 a | 23 pt

The Skinny: Madden is still an excellent defensive forward and, as he's proven with Chicago, would be a welcome addition to a contender to fill out a bottom-six role. He led all Blackhawks forwards in shorthanded ice-time per game, while winning 53 percent of his faceoffs.

47. MARK EATON, D

Age: 33 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Penguins
2009-10 Stats: 3 g | 13 a | 16 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Islanders -- 2 yrs, $5 million

The Skinny: He'll miss a ton of games (he's played more than 70 games in a single season just twice in his 10-year career) but he'll give you an affordable shot-blocker with some good mobility. He's capable of jumping up in the play and scoring the odd goal if the opposition forgets about him.

48. ALEX TANGUAY, F

Age: 30 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Lightning
2009-10 Stats: 10 g | 27 a | 37 pt
'10-11 Team: Signed With Flames -- 1 yr, $1.7 million

The Skinny: At one time Tanguay was one of the better playmaking wingers in the league. And now? He had to wait until September to sign a one-year deal with Tampa Bay for this past season, scoring only 10 goals in 80 games. Another player that could probably had on a cheap one-year deal.

49. DOMINIC MOORE, F

Age: 29 | Experience: 6 years | '09-10 Team: Panthers/Canadiens
2009-10 Stats: 10 g | 18 a | 28 pt

The Skinny: We laughed when Montreal gave up a second-round pick for Moore in February, but he proved to be a huge pickup in the playoffs, scoring a couple of clutch goals against Washington and Pittsburgh, helping the Canadiens make their run to the Conference Final. He's the type of player that always seems to find his way onto a good team and fill a role.

50. SCOTT NICHOL, F

Age: 35 | Experience: 10 years | '09-10 Team: Sharks
2009-10 Stats: 4 g | 15 a | 19 pt
'10-11 Team: Re-Signed With Sharks -- 1 yr

The Skinny: Need a faceoff specialist? There wasn't a better one in the league this past season, as the veteran center won an incredible 60 percent of his draws for the Sharks. He can also make an impact on the penalty kill, having scored seven shorthanded goals in his 10-year career.
