SAN FRANCISCO – Professional boxing is making a rare appearance in San Francisco on June 12 with a four-bout card featuring local welterweight star Karim "Hard Hitta" Mayfield in the eight-round main event at historic Kezar Pavilion, the former home of the 49ers.

Billed as "Civil War" by Hard Knox Promotions and Mo'Betta Entertainment, the show will feature Northern California boxers taking on fighters from Southern California.

Mayfield (12-0-1, 7 KOs), a three-time San Francisco Golden Gloves champion, will face Sergio De La Torre (11-13-3, 3 KOs) from Escondido, Calif., in the main event.

In the co main-event, Oakland's Tony Hirsch (11-3-1, 5 KOs) takes on Jovanni Rubio (6-11, 5 KOs) of Santa Rosa, in an eight-round junior middleweight bout.

Two other scheduled four-round fights will include San Francisco natives Richard Hargraves (light middleweight) and Oakland light middleweight Miguel Lopez.

Kezar Stadium, in the shadow of Golden Gate Park, has played host to several championship bouts over the years, with boxers such as Hall of Famer Rocky Marciano and Carl "Bobo" Olson waging title fights there.
