According to multiple reports, the Dallas strip club altercation involving Vince Young early Sunday morning escalated after a man disrespected the Texas Longhorns and provoked Young.Released surveillance video shows Creiton Kinchen, a Club Onyx employee, exchanging words with Young before the fight in a crowded office around 3:30 a.m. In the video, Young appears to be irritated when Kinchen makes an upside-down "Hook 'em Horns" hand sign at the former University of Texas star.
"There was a conversation going on between Mr. Young and several people inside the office," said Dallas police Lt. Craig Miller, acting commander of the Crimes Against Persons Division. "One of the [club employees] makes a gesture contradictory to the University of Texas, the 'Hook 'em' sign upside down. This obviously made Mr. Young upset."
Police said Kinchen continued to make disparaging remarks about Young's alma mater. In the surveillance video, Young exits the office before apparently being offended again. He then storms back into the office and goes after Kinchen, according to the footage.
Share "One of the other managers is obviously from outside of Texas. He obviously was not a fan of the University of Texas football team," said Lt. Miller.
Dallas police Lt. Andy Harvey said an investigation led to Young receiving a Class C assault citation, punishable by a fine up to $500. Kinchen's lip was bloodied in the altercation, but he did not require medical attention, according to the police report.
"This individual sustained a very minor abrasion to his lip. Very, very minor that did not require any medical attention," said Lt Miller.
Speaking to The Tennessean on Sunday night, Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said he was still awaiting more details about the incident. "We are aware of the reports," Fisher said. "Members of the organization have been in touch with Vince. At this point we're just gathering facts. I have nothing else to say about it. I can't speculate, can't go into detail. We're just gathering facts. I'm sure we will have a lot more information over the next few days."
