Ndamukong SuhDetroit's counting on big things from No. 2 overall pick Ndamukong Suh, and the new Lions defensive tackle already dreaming of taking down one NFC North star.

"The quarterback that I would most like to sack, not to hurt him by any means but it would mean quite a bit to sack a future Hall of Famer in Brett Favre," Suh told KFXX radio in Portland. "Yeah I would definitely like to sack Favre. That would be a nice notch on my belt, the quarterbacks that I have sacked."

Suh's yet to sign a deal with the Lions, a fact he confirmed to KFXX -- "I still have not received my contract" -- but has impressed in offseason workouts nonetheless. The rookie said that he's already been slotted in with the Lions' starters.

"There is no particular status as to whether [I am] going to be a starter or not. But I am running with the ones or the first group," Suh said. "I am definitely embracing that and being able to play with some great guys in Kyle Vanden Bosch, Corey Williams and Jared DeVries and so forth.

• The Redskins will make an attempt to recoup part or all of the $21 million bonus they paid out to holdout defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, the Associated Press confirmed. Washington head coach Mike Shanahan hinted at that possibility when speaking with reporters during the team's minicamp, saying that it would be easier for the Redskins to accommodate Haynesworth's request for a trade if he returned the bonus.

Shanahan said that the Redskins told Haynesworth in February that he could either accept the $21 million bonus or be granted his release.

"Obviously, he took the check," Shanahan said, "so I was surprised he wasn't here. ... Don't take our check and then say that, hey, you don't want to be part of our organization."

Meanwhile, former Redskins exec Vinny Cerrato, who played a big part in the recruitment of Haynesworth, told Jason Reid of the Washington Post that Haynesworth "should stop thinking only about himself.

"When he signed, he said he wanted to prove everybody wrong. He said he wanted to show everybody that it's not about the money. He said he wanted to be the best that ever played. He said he wanted to be like Reggie White. He said Reggie White was his hero, so live up to what you said. Don't have it change just because a coach changed."

Cerrato resigned Dec. 17 after serving two seasons as the team's executive vice president of football operations. He said had Haynesworth been with the team this offseason, he would have a better understanding of what his role would be.

"To me, he signed with the Washington Redskins and not the 4-3 defense when he signed that contract," Cerrato said. "He's got to be concerned about team, you know? There's no 'I' in team. He needs to quit thinking about himself and worry about the team and how he can help these guys, you know?"
