Michael VickA man was reportedly shot early Friday morning outside a Virginia Beach club, where Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was holding his 30th birthday party. According to reports by Virginia news outlet WTKR, the injuries to the man, one of the co-defendants in Vick's dogfighting case, are not life threatening.

The shooting occurred at around 2:10 a.m. ET as the club was closing. Adam Bernstein, spokesman for Virginia Beach police, did not comment whether the shooting was connected to Vick.

An attorney for Vick, Larry Woodward, said his client was neither involved nor present at the time of the shooting, the Associated Press reported.

While the police have not officially confirmed the shooting victim, Dailypress.com reported that a spokesman for Senatra Virginia Beach General Hospital stated Quanis Phillips – a co-defendant in Michael Vick's 2007 dogfighting case – was admitted into the hospital early this morning. He is listed in good condition. The hospital spokesman declined to discuss Phillips' injuries and noted that Phillips would not be speaking to the media. Dailypress.com also reported that Michael Vick's brother, Marcus, advertised the event on his Twitter page.

The news of the shooting was broken by WTKR, which does not use any named sources in the report. It has also since been reported by WTKR that the man who was shot first refused treatment, but then was then treated at a local hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Apparently, a fight broke out before the shooting occurred.

No further information was given out on the suspects involved. The police spokesman noted that the victim and witnesses were not cooperative.

The NFL will not be taking any immediate action against Vick until more facts are known, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Friday.

"Right now, we're looking into it, determining the facts," Aiello said. "That's all we can say at this point. "It's unclear even at this point whether it's a law enforcement investigation going on (regarding Vick.) This is about determining the facts, and that is something we are in the process of doing."

Likewise, the Eagles said they were in wait-and-see mode.

"We are aware of the incident that occurred in Virginia early this morning and are in the process of gathering all of the facts,'' the team said in a statement. "Until then, we will not have any comment on this matter."

Vick remains on federal probation after serving recent prison time for dogfighting.
