England was not given Frank Lampard's apparent goal against Germany in Sunday's World Cup match, leaving England fans furious and World Cup fans clamoring for the implementation of instant replay.

The England midfielder chipped the ball over the head of German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (video below), but was not awarded a goal by referee Jorge Labbadia after the shot appeared to hit the crossbar and bounce downward beyond the goal line. Television replays showed Lampard's strike landing about a yard behind the goal line, before spinning back into play.

The shot came moments after a Matthew Upson tally brought the Three Lions within a goal. Lampard's appeared to tie the match with his strike, but no signal came from the referee.

It's a moment that will surely go down in the pantheon of England's tragic World Cup mishaps. Germany went on to win 4-1, and advance to the quarterfinals.
