rback Michael Vick spoke with Virginia Beach police for approximately 30 minutes Monday about what transpired before a co-defendant in his dog-fighting case was shot outside a club that hosted his birthday bash last week. Vick's attorney, Lawrence H. Woodward Jr., said his client left the party early Friday morning before the shooting, which left Quanis Phillips, a childhood friend of Vick's, wounded. Phillips, who was treated an released from an area hospital, was an uninvited guest and was removed from the club, Woodward told The Virginian-Pidlot.
"Michael voluntarily cooperated with the investigation, went in on his own and answered all the police detective's questions," Woodward told the newspaper.
Vick and Phillips are on federal probation stemming from the dog-fighting case that resulted in a 21-month prison term for Vick. The two are not supposed to have any interaction as part of the probation.
