If Dmitri Young was planning on going online to toss a few votes his brother Delmon's way to help him get on the American League All-Star team this morning, odds are that his attempts were delayed awhile.

That's because they don't have the Internet in jail, and that's precisely where Dmitri Young was on Monday morning after being arrested in Bloomington, Ill. for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Young posted $100 bond and was released from the McLean County Jail later on Monday, and as of now, there's no court date scheduled for the former big leaguer and current bench coach of the Frontier League's Oakland County Cruisers.

This isn't Da Meat Hook's first run-in with the law, as he was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence in 2006, which he pleaded no contest to after failing to appear at a pretrial hearing and having a warrant issued for his arrest. He also had a well-publicized bout with alcoholism and substance abuse that same year and spent three months at the Promises Maibu rehab facility in Southern California.

It seems that Young hasn't been able to maintain a sober lifestyle.

During his 13-year career Young played for the Cardinals, Reds, Tigers and Nationals before retiring in 2008 due to complications he developed thanks to diabetes. He was a career .292 hitter with 171 home runs and 683 RBI.
