SEATTLE -- Ichiro Suzuki left the Mariners and joined the Yankees -- for a day, anyway.Ichiro, the lone Seattle All-Star, got a lift from the Yankees, who were in Seattle over the weekend, on his way to Anaheim and Tuesday's All-Star Game.
The Yankees chartered a private jet to convey their eight All-Stars plus manager Joe Girardi and some of his staff and family members.
They extended the courtesy of a lift south to the Mariners right fielder. The offer apparently was open to Cliff Lee, too, before he was traded to Texas on Friday.
