Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill was suspended for Week 1 of the 2010 NFL and docked an additional game check for violating the league's policy on substance abuse, The Seattle Times reported.
Hill pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug possession charge in April, leading to the suspension. The punishment, however, does not take into account Hill's arrest just days later in a domestic violence investigation. In that case, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at Hill's Georgia home and determined there had been an incident between Hill and his girlfriend.
Police said Hill's girlfriend had suffered visible injuries, which she alleged Hill had caused.
It's possible that the NFL could revisit that case and extend Hill's suspension.
