It's been over a month since we delivered our first fantasy football 2010 rankings in mid-June, so we're bringing you a week of updated rankings. These may be your newest cheat sheets, but they won't be your last, so keep checking in with Fantasy FanHouse throughout the preseason.More thought goes into the running back position in football than any other position in the draft. In fact, it's not uncommon to see third-string running backs selected, based either on past performance, a shaky depth chart, or buzz surrounding the player. You wouldn't draft a third-string quarterback, would you? How about a third-string wide receiver (equivalent to a team's number five wideout)?
Because running backs are always the hottest commodities in fantasy drafts, it's wise to grab as many safe options early as possible. If you have a roster spot or two open near the end of the draft, gamble on a few of the deeper names in these rankings. The next Jamaal Charles or Shonn Greene may be among them.
