It's been more than a month since we delivered our first fantasy football 2010 rankings in mid-June, so we're bringing you a week of updated rankings. These may be your newest cheat sheets, but they won't be your last, so keep checking in with Fantasy FanHouse throughout the preseason.Times are changing in fantasy football. The days of automatically tabbing your first two drafts picks as running backs are just about gone. That's right, you need to shift gears and be ready to pounce on readily available "stud" wide receivers as fast as you can. Some will make the case that late in the first round is the perfect time to strike. Trust me, you don't want to wait or you'll be scrambling to get elite production from your wide receivers all season.
The reality we're all facing is that there are far fewer elite wide receivers than serviceable running backs. There just isn't enough great WRs to go around, so you should be thinking wide receiver no later than the second round. And if you're down with this new strategy, you might just want to grab a couple elite guys in two of the first three rounds. The conventionalist will shrug off this notion, but you need to gamble to win fantasy titles these days. And thus, on to the rankings...
