The same week that he traveled to Los Angeles to witness his daughter, Lindsay, begin a jail sentence for violating the terms of her probation, Michael Lohan has learned that he will have his own day in court.
Lohan, 50, was formally charged with harassment this week after an incident involving his 27-year-old former fiancee, Kathryn Major.
Major told police that following a fight about a missed cell phone call, Lohan kicked and threatened to kill her, The Associated Press reported.
Two weeks ago, Mr. Lohan engaged in a heated back-and-forth on Fox News over the parenting of his daughter. Since that appearance, Lindsay took to Twitter to vent her frustrations over what she apparently perceives as her father's interference with her life.
I don't want Michael Lohan Sr. anywhere near me, no matter where I am. I am in a great place and he only brings negativity in my world.
A court date for Mr. Lohan's harassment charge has been set for Aug. 18. According to the AP, Lohan's lawyer denies that her client is guilty of any wrongdoing.
