Scott PodsednikAs of Wednesday afternoon, both the Dodgers and Giants were in discussions for outfielder Scott Podsednik, according to a major league source.

Going into Wednesday's game, Podsednik had a 14-game hitting streak (23-for-61, .377) for the Royals and was fourth in the majors with 30 stolen bases.

The Giants could use an outfielder, as their right fielders have hit a combined .235 with a .709 OPS. The Dodgers could be seeking someone to fill in for injured left fielder Manny Ramirez (strained right calf).

Podsednik, 34, has a .280 career average in 10 seasons with the Mariners, Brewers, White Sox, Rockies and Royals.
