(July 28) -- President Barack Obama boldly rewrote television history, or something like that, when his visit with the ladies of "The View" on Wednesday made him the first sitting president to visit a daytime talk show. (Don't worry, you didn't miss it. It airs Thursday at 11 a.m. EDT.)

While critics contend that the president has more important things on his agenda than a daytime television stop -- for instance, like the Boy Scouts Jamboree -- working the show's national audience could serve any number of purposes. And at any rate, with the segment now in the can, the question is where this appearance will fall in the ever-expanding canon of Obama television spots. Surge Desk offers the following clips to start the debate.

Previously on "The View" ... "The View" has already enjoyed multiple visits from Obama, once during the 2008 campaign and once in 2004 when he was promoting "Dreams From My Father." Judging by Barbara Walters' comments at the end of this clip, it's no wonder she's making a special return to the studio for the president's appearance.

12 Minutes With Barack Obama. Steve Kroft of "60 Minutes" had the honor of spending some time with then-presidential-candidate Obama as he traveled from state to state along the campaign trail. The striking thing about the segment is how it encapsulates the energy and momentum that carried Obama into office.

Starting a Dance Dance Revolution. Last of the pre-presidency videos -- shedding the seriousness of the "60 Minutes" appearance, Obama gets down in a little dance-off on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

An Earlier First. Obama last made television history with an appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," when he became the first sitting president to be a guest on a late-night show. In an effort toward late-night bipartisanship, Obama later visited "Late Show With David Letterman."

Looking for Tushes to Kick, With Matt Lauer. Obama's extensive exclusive interview with the "Today" show host became famous for his choice words on oil spill culpability, but what's forgotten is that it also covered a variety of other topics, including Afghanistan, financial reform and peanut butter allergies.

The Karate Kid. And finally, because we just couldn't not include it, there's the classic of Obama going ninja on a fly during an interview with CNBC.
