Brandon Graham Signs with EaglesSlowly but surely, the first-round dominoes are falling. The latest: No. 13 overall pick Brandon Graham, who signed a five-year deal with the Eagles on Thursday, according to multiple reports. Graham followed No. 8 pick Rolando McClain (Oakland), No. 19 pick Sean Witherspoon (Atlanta) and No. 25 pick Tim Tebow (Denver), all of whom agreed to their rookie contracts within a 24-hour span.

Philadelphia traded the No. 24 pick and two third-round selections in April's draft to jump up and pick Graham, a standout rush lineman at Michigan.

"I put a lot of value in guys that love to play the game and play relentless football and that have the character," Eagles coach Andy Reid said after the pick was made. "I thought [Graham] kind of filled all those spots."

Graham had a stellar career for the Wolverines, recording 10 sacks in each of his last two seasons despite playing on a pair of mediocre defenses. Graham also won MVP honors at the Senior Bowl.

Philadelphia is hoping that Graham can mimic the success of another former Michigan standout, LaMarr Woodley of the Steelers, who has turned into one of the league's more feared pass rushers as a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid. Unlike Woodley, though, Graham will find himself in a base 4-3 defense, meaning he'll be asked to play more of a traditional defensive end spot.

The Eagles will slot Graham on the left side -- opposite Trent Cole, who's accounted for 34 total sacks in the past three seasons. Graham will have to beat out Juqua Parker, an 11-game starter last season, for first-team duties.
