The Marlins, 7 1/2 games out in the NL East and 6 1/2 back in the wild card at the trade deadline, bolstered an inconsistent bullpen by trading for Orioles lefty Will Ohman.Ohman, who turns 33 on Aug. 17, has a 3.30 ERA in 51 appearances (30 innings, 29 strikeouts). He has held lefty batters to a .226 average this year and .207 for his career.
The Florida bullpen has a 4.45 ERA with an NL-high 19 blown saves.
Baltimore got 25-year-old right-hander Rick VandenHurk, who has pitched in 35 big-league games but spent most of this season in Triple-A (8-4, 4.68 ERA in 19 starts).
