It took Thierry Henry and Juan Pablo Angel just nine minutes to prove how dangerous a striking partnership they're going to be.

The New York Red Bulls visited Houston on Saturday night in Henry's MLS debut. He scored a goal in his first game in a Red Bulls uniform -- a friendly last week against Tottenham -- but was the setup man at Robertson Stadium on Saturday.

Henry ran down a long pass from Seth Stammler and held off Houston's Adrian Serioux in the left corner. A beautiful turn toward the endline set up a left-footed cross that bounced at the six-yard line. The ball hit Angel, fell to the turf and the Colombian buried it past Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall.

It was Angel's 10th goal of the season, good for second in MLS.

The pair combined again in the 58th minute, when Henry played a pass through to Angel, who scored his second of the game with a well-hit right-footed shot. That gave New York a 2-1 lead, but Houston would equalize in the 89th minute through veteran midfielder Brian Mullan.

Playing alongside Henry, Angel now has to be considered a real threat to catch and pass Edson Buddle (12 goals) and win the golden boot.
