Correll Buckhalter and Knowshon Moreno

Knowshon Moreno
and Correll Buckhalter both had rough days at training camp on Sunday and the Denver Broncos now will have to scramble for answers.

Moreno was carted off the field after catching a screen pass, falling to the ground and attempting to cut back. Indications from Mike Klis of The Denver Post are that Moreno's injury is a hamstring tear, not a knee injury, as originally thought.
Although hamstring injuries can vary in severity -- and Moreno no doubt popped his pretty good -- strained, or torn, muscles typically heal quicker than ripped up knee ligaments. Remember, there are still 42 days remaining until the Broncos' first game, Sept. 12 at Jacksonville.
Buckhalter was helped from the field shortly after with an upper-back pull. He was sent to the hospital as a precaution because of tingling in his extremities.

Moreno is expected to miss three weeks while Buckhalter could miss just one.

Klis also listed a group of five running backs that will or could be looked upon to fill in until the Broncos are past the injury debacle at running back. Kolby Smith, who is currently on the roster, and Brian Westbrook, a free agent at the moment, are among the listed.

More Fantasy Football Perspective From Around the NFL:

Peyton Manning worked out this summer with Anthony Gonzalez and Austin Collie. According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, Manning had rave reviews for Gonzalez and says he's ready for camp.
Gonzalez, Manning said, "wanted to get down there and get some reps. He and I had three really good days of throwing. I thought he looked good, thought he looked quick. He had a good burst on all his routes."

"His hamstring, I think that's totally healed. I know he's excited to be here in training camp and get started with a truly fresh start to the 2010 season. I know 2009 was frustrating for him."
• Mark Purdy of the San Jose Mercury News says it's a safe prediction that Michael Crabtree will score 10 to 12 touchdowns this season.

Sun-Sentinel beat writer Omar Kelly says that Brian Hartline has lined up opposite of Brandon Marshall in each of the first five training camp practices. He thinks Hartline might have already won the No. 2 WR job in Miami.

Chargers head coach Norv Turner spent some time talking to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune about Mike Tolbert, who took first-team tailback carries while Ryan Mathews was away signing his contract. Could Tolbert be in line for an increased workload in 2010?
"What I believe will be different is we're going to get more explosive (rushing) plays," Turner said. "Everybody talks about the average per carry. That's where your average per carry changes. And we have not gotten a lot of explosive runs the past two years. In fact, the ones we got were mostly Darren or (Mike) Tolbert."

While Tomlinson did actually produce more big plays than Sproles and Tolbert, Turner's point is overwhelmingly accurate when the number of touches is factored in.

Tolbert, a fullback who spent the two days Mathews was absent taking snaps as the first-team tailback, scored on a 66-yard run last season and had a 67-yard run his rookie year. His average over 38 career carries, a total he could double this season, is 4.9 yards.
• The Cincinnati Bengals have Jermaine Gresham listed as their No.1 tight end on the depth chart. Whether this holds up, or is even accurate at this point, take it with a grain of salt. The team also has Antonio Bryant listed ahead of Terrell Owens at WR2. We all know that's not going to be the case.

• Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer shared a couple of depth chart nuggets from training camp. Peyton Hillis is working with the second team at running back and Jake Delhomme is taking the brunt of the snaps with the first-team offense.
