Isiah Thomas Rehired by Knicks: Fans React with Dismay on Twitter

(Aug. 6) -- New York: If he can't make it there, he'll try, try again?

On Friday, the New York Knicks announced that they had rehired Isiah Thomas, their former coach and team president, as a consultant. That news sent long-suffering Knickerbocker fans to Twitter in droves, where they voiced their frustrations.

As reported by AOL FanHouse, Thomas' tenure with the Knicks was particularly dismal. From 2003-2008, when Thomas served as team president, the Knicks failed to make the playoffs. After Thomas assumed head coaching duties during the 2007-2008 season, his team compiled an embarrassing 23-59 record before "Zeke" was fired.

In addition to the lackluster performance of the basketball team during his time with the Knicks, a judge found that, as coach, Thomas sexually harassed a female team executive, costing Cablevision, the Knicks' parent company, $11.6 million.

Given this woeful history, it is perhaps not surprising what people were saying about Thomas' return to the club. Here's a sampling:
