Tim Tebow Limited Edition Sneakers Sell Out in 5 Minutes
Last month, Nike -- in conjunction with EA Sports College Football 2011 -- announced that it would be releasing 500 limited edition blue and orange Tim Tebow cross trainers on August 6 at NikeStore.com. That promptly led Tebow zealots and shoe collectors to wonder how exactly they would get their hands on them.
Well, the shoes went on sale online Friday morning at approximately 1:50 a.m. and five minutes later they sold out. Nike Store's Twitter feed also reported that the show was "...up there with some of the fastest sell outs. This was a hot one."
OnlyGators.com points out that, "The Tim Tebow Trainer 1.2 features Tebow's 'Promise' speech from Sept. 27, 2008." Still, any concerns that Tebow might use his commercial endorsements to promote his religious beliefs apparently had no effect on fans eager to buy his merchandise.
In fact, if Tebow's Broncos career is anything like his Gators experience, expect an entire city to be wearing Promise kicks, no matter what message is scribbled on them.
