
One of the most fascinating moments to come from Saturday's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony was the eloquence with which Emmitt Smith spoke. The NFL's all-time leading rusher bumbled his way through a post-football television career that left him best known for making up words and while not making much of a point.
So it was refreshing to hear Smith in Canton, clad in his yellow blazer, delivering a speech that was befitting of a Hall of Fame NFL career.
One problem: Smith somehow forgot to acknowledge his alma mater, the University of Florida, in his enshrinement speech. And for that he's sorry. Sincerely.
