Leo B. Gordon joined the Jeff Gordon clan Monday morning when Jeff's wife, Ingrid Vandebosch, gave birth to the boy at 8:53 a.m.

Leo Benjamin weighed in at seven pounds, two ounces and is 19 inches long, JeffGordon.com reported.

"He's happy and healthy, and Mom is doing great," Gordon was quoted as saying on his website.

Gordon and Vandebosch also have a 3-year-old daughter, Ella.

It has been a season of new babies on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. Last month, Juan Pablo Montoya's wife gave birth to their third child, while Jimmie Johnson, Elliott Sadler and Carl Edwards all became first-time fathers in 2010.

Gordon still plans to fly to Michigan and take part in all of the weekend's Sprint Cup activities beginning Friday at Michigan International Speedway.
