| Finley is one of the rising stars on the Packers' squad |
According to Chmura, who played for the Packers from 1992 to 1999, Finley is "a great player, but he is a moron."
Chmura made those comments on his ESPN 540 radio show (via PFT), and they point to why Chmura is one of the least likable ex-players to turn to broadcasting: He throws a lot of stones for a man who lives in a glass house.
Chmura is, of course, the man who made the moronic decision 10 years ago to go hot-tubbing with teenage girls at a post-prom party. One of those teenage girls accused him of rape, and although he was acquitted, he acknowledged that he did something that "wasn't something a married man should do."
You'd think that incident would have chastened Chmura, but it hasn't: He loves nothing more than to pronounce his moral and athletic superiority on his radio show.
It's not clear what, specifically, Chmura has against Finley, but he said that if he talked to Finley, "First thing I'd do, I'd say, 'Shut your mouth. Shut up. Shut up! You're dumb. You're a heck of a player but ... be quiet!'"
That's advice Chmura himself would be wise to take.
