Pirates Radio Announcers Lose Their Minds In Celebration

When you're the Pittsburgh Pirates every win is a cause for jubilant celebration because, well, they simply don't happen all that often. And when the team's prized rookie -- slugging third baseman Pedro Alvarez -- hits a dramatic, three-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the team an 8-7, come-from-behind win as he did this past Saturday night against the Colorado Rockies?

Well, you get the Pirates radio announcers -- Greg Brown and Steve Blass -- going bat poop crazy on the air with two "oh my God's," maniacal screaming and, yes, even whistling.

The home run from Alvarez came after the Pirates surrendered a three-run lead in the top of the ninth inning thanks to an Ian Stewart home run, which was followed by a two-run shot from Todd Helton in the top of the 10th.

The win improved the Pirates record to a robust 39-71.
