Air Force Two was involved today in what is being described as a minor accident at Long Island, N.Y.'s Francis S. Gabreski Airport. According to The Associated Press, no one was injured after the "jet wash" from Joe Biden's plane damaged the wing of a smaller plane as it passed close by. The vice president was on board the plane, which took off, apparently unaware of the damage left behind.
While admittedly probably no big deal, Surge Desk can't help but note that Wednesday's accident marks the fourth transportation mishap for Biden in the past year. Have a look at his tally of late:
- Just last week, as Biden made his way to New York's JFK airport, two New York City police officers on motorcycles escorting him were involved in a minor crash, The New York Times reported.
- On Feb. 14, two former U.S. Olympians -- Peggy Fleming and Vonetta Flowers -- sustained minor injuries after being involved in a collision while riding in a Biden motorcade, MSNBC.com reported.
- And back in November, a police car escorting another of Biden's now infamous motorcades crashed into a livery cab as the V.P. was on his way to appear as a guest on "The Daily Show."
