2010 NFL Preseason Schedule

The 2010 NFL preseason schedule continues Saturday, as seven more games feature 14 teams opening their preseason schedules.

Here's a look at Saturday's action.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins, 7:00 p.m., NFL Network:

After a 3-13 season, the Buccaneers want to start developing a culture of winning. For them, that includes the preseason, according to veteran running back Earnest Graham. This also serves as the latest sign of progress for young Tampa quarterback Josh Freeman, who enters the season as their unquestioned starter. Even though the Dolphins missed the playoffs last year, they aren't as desperate to win, and are likely content with the chance to get their main players a few reps and evaluate the young guys.

Detroit Lions at Pittsburgh Steelers, 7:30 p.m.:

The Steelers haven't announced a starting quarterback for this game. Of course, Ben Roethlisberger is suspended for the first six games of the regular season. That means the team has to strike a balance between getting him the work he needs to be sharp when he returns and getting the starters acclimated to whoever will take his spot while he's out. Detroit fans will get their first look at first-round pick Ndamukong Suh in live action, and he's excited to take a shot at whomever the Steelers start under center. Caleb Campbell, who signed with the Lions in 2008 but was then called into a two-year tour of duty with the Army, is also slated to make his NFL debut.

Cleveland Browns at Green Bay Packers, 8:00 p.m.:

There is little doubt that Jake Delhomme will be the Browns starter, but it will be interesting to see how he performs against a live defense. The Packers probably won't show much on either side of the ball, but their offensive line -- one that allowed a painful 51 sacks last year and saw the team's season end on a sack/fumble -- bears much watching.

Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams, 8:00 p.m.:

Sam Bradford's preseason debut comes against one of the league's more dynamic pass-rush defenses. The Rams will have a challenge -- even if for only a series or two -- trying to keep Bradford upright. Meanwhile, there's still no sign of Brett Favre with the Vikings, meaning we'll see Tarvaris Jackson start, and a lot of Sage Rosenfels after that.

Houston Texans at Arizona Cardinals, 8:00 p.m.:

This one's an easy call. Kurt Warner is gone, so Matt Leinart has the job in Arizona. It doesn't seem that Derek Anderson has much of a chance of posing a serious challenge, but Leinart can remove any remaining doubt by having a strong preseason. Houston's pass defense isn't terribly imposing, but it will be interesting to see how they use rookie cornerback Kareem Jackson.

Chicago Bears at San Diego Chargers, 9:00 p.m.:

The curtain lifts for Mike Martz and his Bears offense. Jay Cutler won't see much action, but he should have some chances to make plays through the air. The Chargers will provide a challenge with their pass rush, mainly because we still don't know what to expect out of the Bears up front. Martz won't show much, but we should see how the chemistry is developing with the skill position players.

Tennessee Titans at Seattle Seahawks, 10:00 p.m., NFL Network:

There is little reason for the Titans to use Chris Johnson much in this game. Instead, it should be a chance for youngster Javon Ringer to show what he can do out of Tennessee's backfield. Seattle debuts new coach Pete Carroll, and there should be ample time to evaluate new backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, along with third-stringer J.P. Losman. Meanwhile, Carroll has four running backs, including Julius Jones and Leon Washington, and only one football to hand out.
