Heavyweight contender Chris Arreola of Riverside, Calif., suffered a broken left hand and tendon damage in his right hand during Friday night's unanimous decision victory over promotional stablemate, Manuel Quezada, whom Arreola floored twice in the ninth round and once more in the 12th at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.

Nicknamed "The Nightmare," the 29-year-old Arreola rose to to 29-2, with 25 knockouts against the 32-year-old Quezada (29-6, 18 KOs) of Bakersfield, whose ring name is, "El Toro."

"We had Chris at the doctors on Saturday, and we expect a full report later on today and a confirmation of everything. But it appears that he broke his left hand as he said that he did in the second round, and so he fought with a broken hand," said Arreola's promoter, Dan Goossen.

"Chris also apparently suffered tendon damage in his right hand, which will necessitate surgery on that also," said Goossen. "I'll have more information this afternoon when he goes to the doctors again. I don't know how long he will be out until he goes to the specialist today."
