Beginning January 11, ESPN will air a double-header of college hoops every Tuesday night through March 1 of this upcoming season, featuring conference bouts of the Big Ten and SEC. The schedule of games was released Wednesday and, upon an initial glance, it appears a pretty stacked lineup, as usual. Purdue and Kentucky will each appear four times in the eight-week span of scheduling. The Boilermakers, who are going to open the season ranked in the top three in nearly every poll there is, will take part in one of two likely marquee matchups of the series when they square off against Ohio State on January 25. The Buckeyes will be involved with another one of the nation's top three teams less than a month later on Super Tuesday, when they host Michigan State.
As Kentucky figures to once again be a fixture in the top 10, it will be showcased a few times on Super Tuesday. The best SEC game on the docket appears to be when Tennessee visits the Wildcats on February 8.
Of course, this isn't to denigrate the rest of the slate (Michigan State at Illinois, anyone?), as Big Ten and SEC fans can pretty much pencil in four hours of basketball every Tuesday night.
