OD, Colo. -- Rookie quarterback Tim Tebow left the Broncos' practice early on Wednesday with a possible rib injury, and did not return after being examined on the field by team trainers.Tebow exited before taking part in the team's post-practice conditioning work, holding his hand over his left side, according to the Denver Post.
On Tuesday, Tebow took part in both Broncos practices, though reporters noted he began wearing a protective vest over his rib cage during the second session in the afternoon.
He took a hard hit in Sunday night's preseason game at Cincinnati, when he ran through two Bengals defenders en route to a 7-yard touchdown run on the final play. Tebow may have suffered an injury to his rib cage area when he took a double-barreled hit in the midsection from linebacker Abdul Hodge and safety Kyries Hebert.
The Broncos play Detroit on Saturday in a preseason game. Tebow's playing status for that contest is uncertain.
