(Aug. 19) -- One thing we can be sure -- yet again -- was not responsible for Senate candidate Alvin Greene's mysterious victory in the South Carolina Democratic primary was his way with words. Indeed, it's almost impossible to summarize the recent conversation he had with the Charleston City Paper, so little did he actually say. The weekly had the somewhat inspired idea to ask Greene, a University of South Carolina alumnus, to share advice on college life, and in return got back these complete answers:
What to do if you have a bad roommate, Mr. Greene?
Stay alone. Do without a roommate.
What about avoiding the freshman 15?
Work out.
And if you overdo it and wake up with a hangover?
I don't know.
In other words, a pretty typical chapter in the story of Alvin Greene, whose campaign has already proved so bizarre that The New York Times got duped into believing it put out this rap video (full lyrics here) about him that includes the line "and he don't show porno to college chicks" and includes inexplicable cuts to LeBron James highlights as the pro-Alvin Greene song continues. For his part, Greene did say he supported the video.
In addition to dropping knowledge on college kids, Greene was recently indicted for the aforementioned showing porn to a college student incident. Said Greene on that matter when asked in an interview: "Noooooooooooooooooooo."
