The Entire Internet Is Searching for Potentially Lethal Sandwiches

(Aug. 19) -- Burger King's Pizza Burger, a 2,500 calorie monstrosity of meat, cheese and sesame-studded refined carbohydrate, is the latest fast food arterial assault to captivate diners (but mostly Internet users) this summer.

The burger, which for now has been relegated to the chain's new New York City Whopper Bar, joins a heaping pile of consumables being digested by diners and web-browsers alike. KFC's Double Down, the bun-free combination of chicken, sauce, cheese and more chicken, was of course the first to astound -- but it didn't take long for other outlets to follow suit. Enter Denny's fried cheese melt, Carl's Jr.'s footlong cheeseburger and IHOP's cheesecake-stuffed pancake stackers.

Then, after months of alternately relishing and retching over images, calorie counts and youTube consumption footage, this afternoon it happened. The web finally attained the fast food gimmick singularity: when a critical mass of hot searches point to a potentially lethal sandwich.
