The top 10 on TSN's "Sportscentre" Sunday evening was counting down the top 10 goalie moments, and it includes a fantastic compilation of fights, goals, blunders and ridiculous saves. As always, any list or countdown is going to be subjective and open to plenty of debate, especially one as arbitrary as "goalie moments." Still, any video that includes Patrick Roy fighting, Ron Hextall scoring goals and Tuukka Rask throwing empty milk crates is definitely enjoyable.
I have to be honest, I'm not entirely sold on their No. 1. It's an amazing play, and perfectly demonstrates the freakish flexibility that Dominik Hasek possessed, but I'm not even sure it's the best save on the list, let alone the best moment.
Some omissions that might be worth pointing out: Roy skating with the puck over the red line, Roy telling Jeremy Roenick why he can't hear him ("I can't really hear what Jeremy says because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears") and, heck, why not Ty Conklin in the Stanley Cup Final?
