WASHINGTON -- Washington Nationals center fielder Nyjer Morgan has been suspended for seven games and fined by Major League Baseball.Morgan was disciplined for "inappropriate actions" during the Nats' game against the Phillies on Saturday.
During the middle of the ninth inning of that game, Morgan threw a ball into the crowd at Citizens Bank Park. The ball wound up striking a fan.
Morgan is appealing the punishment.
He was in the Washington lineup Wednesday night, hitting leadoff against the Cubs.
