Oakland Raiders' WR Chaz Schilens Undergoes Knee Surgery
Schilens, one of the team's top wideouts, will be out indefinitely. The injury to the knee arose from overcompensating for lingering soreness in his surgically repaired left foot.
Meanwhile, Alex Daniels' attempted conversion from defensive lineman to fullback appears to be over. The Contra Costa Times reports that Daniels, an undrafted rookie free agent, was wearing his old No. 79 jersey at practice rather than the No. 39 that he had been given for the switch to fullback.
Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable told the newspaper that Daniels' progress in attempting the conversion had stalled. The decision was made to allow him go back to his natural position as a defensive lineman to give him the best chance to make the team.
