'Top Chef DC' Heads to Nationals Park

"Top Chef" is the rare Bravo show that both the ladyfriend and I can watch together. ("Work of Art: Next Great Artist" is also pretty good -- um, yeah, anyway ... let's talk about sports. And food.)

Padma, Tom Colicchio and my man Rick Moonen -- Wednesday's guest judge -- lined up an elimination challenge where the contestants of Season 7 would cook for Washington Nationals' fans.

Basically, the remaining six contestants had to come up with their own ballpark food. It should be no surprise (SPOILER ALERT) that Amanda, who decided that Tuna Tartar was a tasty summer ballpark feature, got booted. And it should be no surprise that Tiffany (Vegas' odds-on favorite to win, I believe) kicked ass with her meatball sub, although BFF Ed ended up winning with his shrimp and jalapeno risotto poppers.

But to the sports tie-in: they were at Nationals Park and Adam Dunn, John Lannan, and Matt Capps joined them before the contest. They were not impressed with the tuna, or Ed's poppers. But that's mainly because Dunn, ever the prankster, thought it tasted like something nasty.

Anyway, so, yeah, sports and food. Sure there wasn't any Stephen Strasburg, but it was still pretty fun to watch.
